The gardens around The Main House have been added to over many generations. They are calming and tranquil

Now a mature arboretum, the gardens stretch from the ilex tree arching over the Long Room up to The Lord’s Corner where the remains of a ha-ha overlooks the Jubilee Avenue
The terrace leads onto shallow Lily ponds whilst the Rose Garden and Top Pond are deeper.
A rockery and the largest monkey puzzle in NI can be found amongst a range of specimen trees, some of which survive in memory of those who have lived there.

With dogs having been an important aspect of life at Mourne Park, the Dog’s Graveyard contains many headstones recording the names of many different animals to have enjoyed running through Mourne Park.
